i came across some articles about the surge and they made me think about the new dilemma for doves and hawks.
it's like the whole situation has changed. i started on an essay about whether we should pull out of iraq or stay, with special concern about the 'current' situation. i tried to do some research on the 'current' situation but i found it hard to get information that was 'up-to-date'. my main conclusion: if the troops stay and can't prevent more chaos, which i was sure was to come, is it worth the price? so basically i didn't think much of the surge.
not it seems as i was proofed wrong. so two things:
- i thought it was a mess and it would become even messier, no matter what. too shallow, vote4democrats better pull out today than tomorrow
- new things happen: the surge coincides with several other influences. and there's also a new approach that's gets the G.I.s bottoms out of the Green Zone

I noticed in your post that you mention "a vote 4 democrats" might mean a withdraw of troops from Iraq.
But I do not believe all of the front running democrats are calling for a total pull-out from Iraq. Each of them want to leave troops behind in Iraq.
Republican- Ron Paul would be the best choice for someone who wants the troops pulled out of Iraq. Democrat- Dennis Kucinich is also calling for total withdraw of US troops, however, he doesn't have to money or support that Paul has.
(No, I do not support Ron Paul.) I actually believe the surge is working and we should try and win the war in Iraq.
